Our River Ganga Trek of 7 nights and 8 days presents a chance to experience this famous river's breathtaking beauty and spiritual significance. This trip is more than simply a hike; it’s a pilgrimage that offers an opportunity to discover the rich cultural tapestry woven along the Ganges banks. Explore the isolated village of Gangotri, which is the historical source of the Bhagirathi, the main Ganges stream; you’ll hike through the mountains. The tour brings you a lot of exciting experiences as you see serene slopes and tumbling waterfalls.

Detail Itinerary:
Day 1: Drive to Uttarkashi
We begin a road trip from Rishikesh to Uttarkashi, a spectacular drive through the Bhagirathi valley. The Bhagirathi River is dammed at Tehri and forms a reservoir 22 km behind the dam. It takes around 7 hours to reach Uttarkashi. Once there, we check into our room, and the rest of the day is spent exploring the nearby areas. We stay overnight.
Day 2: Drive to Gangotri
The source of Ganga, Gaumukh, is 18 kms further upstream from Gangotri. The trek to Gaumukh is gradual, and several pilgrims pay homage to the river at its known source. Gangotri is one of Uttarakhand's major 4 Hindu pilgrimages; it is believed that the Ganga River originates & came first time onto earth. This small town is centered on a temple of the goddess Ganga, built by the Gorkha General, Amar Singh Thapa, in the early 18th century. Stay overnight in Gangotri.
Day 3: Trek to Cheerbaba
After breakfast, we begin the trek to Cheerbasa. On the way, we launch into a small, isolated forest. We stay overnight at the camp.
Day 4: Trek to Bhojbasa
This day, you’ll start with an uphill trek to Gaumukh. From there, it takes 9 km and 4 to 5 hours to reach Bhojbasa. Bhojbasa has a small temple, where you can stay overnight and have dinner.
Day 5: Trek to Tapovan
Till Gaumukh it is a well-defined trail. It’s full of boulders on Glacier. After crossing the moraine and glacier, we finally reach the place where we leave the Gangotri glacier below and climb very steeply uphill to reach Tapovan, from which rises the Shivling Peak, flanked by Meru and Kedar Dome. You can witness the peaks of Bhagirathi & Sudarshan from Tapovan, a base camp of Shivling Mountain. Stay overnight in tents.
Day 6: Trek to Cheerbaba
After breakfast, we’ll start our 13 km trek back to Cheerbasa in the morning. Once we reach, we'll have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 7: Trek to Gangotri | Uttarkashi drive
After breakfast, trek back to Gangotri and leave for vehicles. Drive to Uttarkashi. Stay overnight at Uttarkashi.
Day 8: Departure from Rishikesh
Post breakfast, it takes 7 hours to drive to Rishikesh from Uttarkashi. The tour ends well.
